Meet the Doctor

Dr. T.E. “Chip” Butler Jr.

Dr. T.E. “Chip” Butler Jr. is a lifelong resident of Liberty. His father, T. Edgar Butler Sr., began practicing dentistry in Liberty in 1964. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in chemistry, Dr. Butler joined Merck and Co. Pharmaceuticals, where he worked as a chemist and sales representative for 9 years. Feeling unfulfilled, he chose to change his career path. In 1995, he was accepted into the West Virginia School of Dentistry. In June of 1999, he graduated as The Honor Graduate and came back to Liberty where he joined his father’s practice. Father and son had the great experience of working together until Dr. Butler Sr.’s retirement in 2004.

Dr. Butler is very active in the Liberty community, where he lives with his wife, Carol, and children, Lily and Carter. A true outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and water/snow skiing. He serves as a Deacon and is a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Liberty. Dr. Butler is a member of the Liberty Rotary Club, Randolph County Dental Society, North Carolina Dental Society, the ADA, and the Piedmont Implant Group Study Club.

Dr. Butler enjoys volunteering his time and talents to help those less fortunate. He has been on several dental mission trips outside of the country. Locally, he has served in the Missions of Mercy (MOM) dental clinics, Christina’s Smile (PGA Tour), the N.C. Baptist Men’s Dental Bus, and various other community health fairs.

Continuing to serve the Liberty community and surrounding areas with quality and affordable dental care is the primary focus for Dr. Butler and his excellent staff.
